Scott B. Paul

Chief Executive Officer
Scott has served as Chief Executive Officer since April 2010. Previously, Scott was Chief Operating Officer of Hoku from November 2008 through March 2010. From July 2003 until November 2008, Scott was Hoku's VP, Business Development & General Counsel. Prior to joining Hoku, Scott worked as Director of Business Development and Associate General Counsel at Read-Rite Corporation, a publicly-traded multi-national company. Previously, Scott worked as an attorney at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP representing high tech emerging growth and large-cap public companies on financing and M&A transactions.

Scott earned his JD cum laude from Santa Clara Law School and his BA from University of California, Los Angeles.

(Jeremy) Xiaoming Yin, PhD

President, Hoku Corporation
Dr. Yin has served as the Company's President since February 2011. Dr. Yin has served since 2007 as founder and managing director of SinoTransPacific Ventures, a private equity firm headquartered in Los Angeles. Among other equity financing and M&A activity, SinoTransPacific Ventures was involved in business advisory services to Tianwei New Energy in the original polysilicon transactions between Hoku Materials and Tianwei New Energy, and during its subsequent equity investment in Hoku. From 2000 to 2007, Dr. Yin was a founding member and Vice President at LightCross, Inc., a California-based manufacturer of semiconductor optical networking and switching components which was merged with Arroyo Optics in 2005 to form Kotura, Inc. Subsequent to the acquisition of LightCross, Dr. Yin served in a variety of executive roles at Kotura. From 1996 to 2000, Dr. Yin served as program manager and technical staff at the IBM, Siemens, Toshiba Development Alliance in East Fishkill, NY where he had responsibilities in developing industry best practices for advanced semiconductor product development, production ramp up, product roadmap planning, capital equipment selection, and technology transfer.

Dr. Yin holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China, a master's degree in business administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management, and a doctoral degree in semiconductor physics from the City University of New York

Darryl Nakamoto

Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer & Secretary
Darryl has been Hoku's Chief Financial Officer since January 2005, and is responsible for managing all of the company's finance, accounting and public company reporting functions. Prior to joining Hoku, Darryl was the Finance Analyst at Frito-Lay where his responsibilities included budgeting and forecasting for selling expense, along with manufacturing and distribution cost centers. The position also involved advisory over product supply and coordination of other finance matters. Before that Darryl was the Sales and Marketing Executive for Syntera Solutions, a division of Profitability of Hawaii (POH), a software development/digital imaging company Prior to POH, Darryl was the Regional Director of Activitymax, a software company that develops reservation software for the travel industry. Prior to Activitymax, Darryl began his career at KPMG, LLP where he earned his CPA and planned and executed multiple audit engagements in various fields including insurance, hospitality, and government.

Darryl earned his BA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Washington.

Jerrod Schreck

Chief Strategy Officer
President, Hoku Solar
Jerrod has served as the Company's Chief Strategy Officer since April 2010 and as President of Hoku Solar since May 2011. Previously, he served as the Company's Vice President of Business Development from July 2009 through March 2010 and as the Company's Director of Business Development from June 2008 to July 2009. From November 2006 to May 2008, Jerrod was Development Director and Strategic Projects Manager at the Nature Conservancy of Hawaii, an international non-profit conservation organization. From March 2006 to November 2006, he was an Associate at Sennet Capital, LLC, a merchant bank in Honolulu, Hawaii providing strategic, financial and M&A advisory services. From August 1995 to March 2006 Jerrod served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, resigning his commission as a Lieutenant Commander. Prior to concluding his active duty service, Jerrod served as Chief Engineer in USS RUSSELL (DDG 59), a destroyer, and as Material Officer at Destroyer Squadron 31, a Pearl Harbor-based operational command responsible for the combat readiness of eight U.S. warships.

Jerrod received a Master's degree as an Olmsted scholar and earned his Bachelor's degree from Cornell University.

(Mike) Tao Zhang

President, Hoku Materials
Dr. Zhang has served as a member of our Board since July 2010 and as the President of Hoku Materials since November 1, 2010. Dr. Zhang has served since 2009 as Vice General Manager of Tianwei New Energy Holdings Co., Ltd. from 2007 to 2009, he served as the Senior Manager/Director of Spansion Inc., a public company in the semiconductor industry by Fujitsu and AMD. From 2002 to 2007, he served as Senior Automation Engineer, Flash Factory IE Manager, Systems IE Manager, Department Manager, and Staff Technologist for Intel. From 1998 to 2002, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. He is Co-Chair of an IEEE Technical Committee and the recipient of an IEEE Early Career Award and the IIE Outstanding Young Industrial Engineer Award. He is also listed in Marquis Who's Who in the World, invited to Asia 21 Young Leader Summit, and selected to the China Global Expert Recruitment program. Dr. Zhang received the M.S. and the Ph.D. degrees, as well as the Management of Technology certificate from the Haas School of Business and the College of Engineering, all at the University of California, Berkeley in record-breaking three years.
