We have developed proprietary fuel cell technologies, with a focus on fuel cell membranes and membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs). Our Hoku Membranes and Hoku MEAs offer the potential for fundamental improvements over existing solutions and the capability for commercial application across a broad range of markets.

Our team of polymer scientists, chemical engineers and electrochemists has developed a new MEA for use in proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells. Hoku MEA™, incorporating Hoku Membrane®, demonstrates performance advantages over existing technologies with lower production costs. Our products are designed to work in stationary and automotive PEM fuel cell systems, and also demonstrate properties such as reduced fuel cross-over that are advantageous for micro fuel cell systems, including direct methanol fuel cells.
